Choropleth Map

A choropleth map is a type of thematic map which provides easy visualization of patterns or trends of data by shading or coloring different areas differently in proportion to the measurement of the statistical variable being represented. Variation in measurements across a geographic area or within a region can be easily analyzed using a choropleth map. This particular map represents the percent of Hispanic/Latino residents in the state of Florida. It is divided by county, with 5 different hues of green used to shade each. This map makes obvious the pattern of the Hispanic/Latino population increasing down the state.
