A digital raster graphic is a scanned copy of a topographic map from the United States Geological Survey (USGS). It takes a paper map and scans it for use on computers. The map file is UTM (Universal Trans Mercator)-projected and georeferenced to the Earth's surface. These scanned USGS maps are often put to use in GIS applications. The DRG cartographic image above is a part of the Washington, D.C. digital raster graphic.
